  1. Anyone own this device? I've been recording audio with it lately and have found that a lot of the audio I have recorded is coming in hot. Yet, I have the levels on auto. I do freelance videography so I usually hook up to a DJ's mixer.

and you didn't learn a thing in class or are you really just a clueless newb? auto levels is only for anyone without a brain. of course it sucks. you either monitor levels or live with garbage using any audio recorder.

  3. Thanx for nothing. But, I've been recording the same event and same band for the last month, without changing the settings. Only recently has it been coming out bad. Same band same DJ same songs.

you're welcome. now grow up and get a clue. i wouldn't shoot a 5 year old's birthday party with an audio recorder on "auto". they don't reduce levels until they have already clipped and it's too late. there isn't a device in the world that can predict what's going to exceed 0db.

Did you try hooking it up to your Macbook? A guy on another post had trouble with audio on a DVD and solved it using his Macbook.
