  1. 1) I typically export using MC AVC H264 and the videos come out very dark (using FRAPs to record). They did this before when I used StaxRip as well. Seems to be a FRAPs only thing. How do I remedy this?

    2) For Vegas users, whats the significance of the settings in Project > Properties? Does that have any effect on compression settings? I've noticed it's not set correctly but it's also a separate set of options from the compression screen, so I'm having trouble understanding what it's for.

    Thanks all!

The project setting defines the timeline. Usually you will set the timeline to match the source. When doing mixed format editing, you usually set project to the primary source.

For example, if you shoot 1080i HDV and set the project to HDV, then the timeline will be HDV. If you import a 720p file to the timeline, it will be converted to 1080i for preview. Final rendering can be to various formats.

The main reason to set the project to match source is to minimize computation when scanning or scrubbing video on the timeline.
