  1. Hi Guys,

I had gone on a paragliding and had got a DVD disc with the video of my adventures. The video plays perfectly on a DVD player. However when i put the disc on my laptop it says its a blank disc and asks me if i would like to burn it.

Is there any way i can identify and get that video downloaded on my computer.

    Your help is much appreciated.

Have whoever created the DVD make sure they finalized the disc.

The original poster is from India so I would not discount the possibility that the DVD uses a type of copy protection with bad sectors that is actually designed to make the disc NOT play on a PC. Indian VCDs do this all the time. It's possible that whoever made the DVD doesn't want it to be copied. It could be unfinalized, but those discs usually only play OK on DVD recorders.

If that is the case I do not personally know a way around this. Others may have some suggestions.

If the computer is running Windows XP, perhaps it lacks the ability to use a UDF file system. In that case installing UDF Reader may be helpful. Just click on "UDF Reader" in the previous sentence, and that will send you to its page in the VideoHelp tools section.
