  1. Hi

Im new to all this as I've just upgraded my PC to something capable of doing this stuff.

I have an avi file I want to burn to VCD (so I can play on my DAV311) I could do this directly in Nero or in a prog outside Nero my main prob is that the file is over 90 mins film length how do I split it and know it will fit on a disk (how much fits per disk). If I convert with TMPEnc (or other please recommend) I can then cut the MPEG as I know how to do that and the file size but dont know how to cut and where to cut if do before I convert.

Also is using Nero as the converter going to reduce the quality?

What do people recommend if any of the above is wrong all thoughts and ideas welcome

    Thanks

  2. I have found the nero does reduce the quality, but works well when burning. As for spliting the AVI, you can over burn with Nero but not much. Usually fit about 50 mins or so on a disk. I am running into the problems you are as well. I am using the TMPEnc to encode and then Nero to burn, this let me play in my Apex standalone.
