I have tried ripping the dvd with DVDDecrypter and selecting only the stream I want but VOB2MPG will not process the VOBSet files to make an MPG. So I did it by IFO mode and there are all these language and subtitle tracks that are taking up precious space.
How do I get only the first one?

After Ripping with DVD Decypter (to ISO), open the iso with DVD Shrink and pick and choose your languages and remux/reauthor. Easy as pie.

I don't want to re author, when I tried to use DVDshrink and just picked the audio stream I wanted to keep and chose no compression on all of it the outputted DVD when run through VOB2MPG had no sound.

  4. Cornucopia meant "Full Disc" mode, not "Re-Author" mode. Just deselect the audio & subtitle streams you don't want. DVDShrink won't re-encode the whole thing.

DVDDecrypter is too old to be useful unless the dvd is 10 yrs old. try dvdfab or anydvd. or if it's not protected skip a decrypter. i've used dvdshrink on hundreds of dvds and it's never not done what i've asked when removing streams. may be a bad dvd?

@aedipuss, I have to disagree with you on DVDDecrypter. There's still plenty of current or near current releases that DON'T have the most recent/complex/nasty copy protection on them, and for all of those discs, the app works fine. It's got a great interface on it (thanks, LightningUK!), so for me it ain't broke 7 times out of 10.

@chowmein, whether in FullDisc or ReAuthor mode, you can pick your streams

@Onceler2, why are you using VOB2MPG? Do you need it specifically an MPEG2-PS file? What's your output needs? Possibly VOB2MPG is the culprit here...there are other remux apps out there.

If you are intending to use VOB2MPEG then you ARE re-authoring....or more like "de-authoring" since you will end up with one mpeg file with no DVD menu or file structure.

Which English audio did you pick? As I recall, not many programs like we are discussing work well(or at all) with DTS audio.

English AC3 I have never encountered a DVD with DTS audio.
I am wanting to de author it then. I want to burn a bunch of these to blu ray. If there is a way to burn it to blu ray with it's menu inside the blu ray's menu(as a selection) please tell me how.

I am begining to think that there is no way to get the 6 channel audio to come out with the video.

Nonsense. To make sure the audio came with the video, open an extracted VOB in GSpot and/or MediaInfo and check. If no audio, you did it wrong.

If the audio is in there, maybe you don't have the AC3Filter installed to play it back properly.

    Not a chance.

There is no audio showing up in mediainfo.
Okay I got video and audio demuxed and it is correct. Now how do I remux them for an MPG file for my BR? Every tool I use seems to get the audio out of sync.
If I don't demux then= When I use DVDdecrypter and just select the first audio stream it makes a VOB that does have the correct sound but when I try to convert it to MPG with VOB2MPG using the setting VOBsets it goes for about 3 seconds and then says finished and it is not getting the entire film just a small part of it.
    Thanks

ImagoMPG-Muxer can remux to an MPEG. If it's out of synch then I'd say you didn't decrypt it properly (maybe it has advanced copy protection that DVDDecrypter can't handle). If it is out of synch and you don't feel like going back and decrypting it properly using DVDFabHD Decrypter, maybe, then determine the amount of asynch, remove it using DelayCut, and then remux again.

I tried Imago but it was out of sync. The DVD is unencrypted and in a virtual drive. The VOB that comes out has perfect sync but once I try to mux(maybe it is getting messed up in the demux what app should I be using for that?) it is out of sync.
    Thanks

One that tells you if there's a delay when demuxed, for starters. There's no guarantee it'll show a delay when demuxed, though. Which is why it's sometimes easier - much easier - just to figure the amount of the delay, fix it as described above, and remux. But if you want to try demuxing again, open all the VOBs using DGIndex and then go File->Save Project and Demux Video. That'll give you a D2V project file (ignore it) an M2V of the video, and the AC3 audio. If the video begins with some black frames, maybe use the '[' button of DGindex to move a little bit past the very beginning before starting the video. Again, though, take note of the delay and maybe fix it in DelayCut.
