  1. This has been solved.

    Yesterday I downloaded the 30-day free trial of DVD lab pro, and have since put the video files into the program with a number of menus - it's a fairly basic DVD I want to make; nothing too fancy. I was following a guide, and had come to the end of it - and had pretty much put everything I wanted to in the DVD. Pressing the compile button, DVD lab gives a warning: "The project uses both 16:9 and 4:3 vidoes in a single VTS -> This DVD will be plaable, but it will play all vidoes -> in the same aspect as Movie 1 -> Normally you have to put each aspect video in a seperate VTS" as it's just a warning, and says it should play - I ignored this (as some other places say to do if you just get a warning there). Compiling it the first time, it came up with another error message - [ERR] wrong video vertical frame size. All my videos are the same frame size, and I had to alter it slightly for DVD-lab pro to accept them in the first place. I was hoping someone would help me, or tell me if there is a better way of solving this problem without re-changing the file sizes (as that would require reloading them, and making new chapters again). Would putting each video file into it's own VTS work? I've not been able to find anything online about it - or at least, ones that are in English. Any help would be much appreciated. Burig

    Also: If the only way is to change the video size, what would the correct size be? Currently I have them at 720x576

    if you select a pal template then 720x576 is correct, for ntsc it is 720x480.

    you might try recoding your 16/9 video to letterboxed 4:3 with burned in black bars top and bottom. then the 16/9 won't have the sides cut off or display squished too tall and thin during playback.

  3. I know I set the template to pal.
    I'm farily new at any video editing stuff - and was fairly surprised by how easy to use and understand DVD lab was - but how would I change the 16/9 to 4:3? n_n;

    your encoder should have setting to output either 16/9 or letterboxed 4:3. they are both 720/576.

  5. Sorry about the wait.
    I'm using winff to change the files to mpeg
    I've set the video size to 750x576, but can't see any other output settings;
    the only ones there are are
    preset: Pal DVD fullscreen, or Pal DVD widescreen (or high quality for either of them)
    or Apsect Ratio.

    Nevermind.
    I'm stupid at times. n_n;

    I also forgot: Thank you for the help!
    Usually forums I find through google are fairly slow moving and don't get much attention, so was fairly surprised and pleased to get a fast reply!
    I am very much appreciative.
