  1. I have an old documentary dvd which i ripped with DVD Decrept, DVD Shrink and DVD Fab, each app will rip to 97% and failed. There's a strike at the outter rim of the dvd (I guess that's the 97% point). I tried the tooth paste remedy but still no good. When I tried to open the (incomplete file) with DVD Shrink, it reported failure because it was unable to find IFO file.

Any sugggestions to recover the documentary and either to burn to DVD or just convert to ISO file. I don't mind missing the last minute or so and the credits.

    Thanks.

Moving you. This is not news.

I think you can adjust some dvddecrypter options to keep the files. But I last used it 2003...

In that case, I would record it in realtime from a player that has component output.

One way is to demux first. One way to do that is to open all the VOBs (the ones already on the hard drive) in DGIndex and then File->Save Project and Demux Video. In addition to the D2V file which you can discard, you'll also get a single M2V video file of the whole thing and the audio. Reauthor with Muxman (either create your own chapters or do without), or open the audio and video in any other authoring program and create a chapter list and maybe even a menu if you like, before then reauthoring.

If it opens in PGCEdit, you should be able to get a chapter list from it for feeding into Muxman (File->Import Chapter).
