how to make mkv to dvd

Hi, i have a MKV file(video size is 1280 x 720,file size is 2.5 Gb) & now i want to make dvd of that file.
so i convert that MKV file to MPEG(using Aimersoft Converter) than demux from dvd lab than use dvdauthor to make dvd.
yes dvd is completed with a Hugh 9.7 Gb file,& all this process take 1 hour & 45 min. ,
so my question is
1) any other converter that convert MKV to MPEG in fast time with good quality(i am using Aimersoft)
2) I have video size problem like MPEG convert in Full Screen(eg. 1:85:1) but i wanted that in 16:9 or 4:3,so is
that possible
3) How to make fast,simple menu for that dvd,
4) is that dvd make in 8 gb

Try free converters like avstodvd, it can both convert to mpg or complete dvd with a simple menu.

but avstodvd is work for MKV,
i mean i use MKV to MPEG than the other process happened,
so is supported to MKV to MPEG ?
