Is Friday the new dvd/bluray release date?

I've noticed this the last few scifi movie releases on dvd/bluray.

First with Xmen First Class. THen with Star Wars Bluray and now Transformers 3 this coming Friday.

Forever new movie disc releases were on Tuesdays. Is Friday the new norm? Or is it just for these select titles?

Actually it makes more sense to me to release new dvds/blurays on the weekend rather than the middle of the week. Thats when people will be looking for new stuff to watch.

You are right they do seem to be doing releasing more on Friday closer together. But, I don't think Friday is the new Tuesday, I think there were just so many movies over the spring/summer they are trying to stagger them for smoothing out profits or for the holiday shopping season. I do remember they did this a few years ago and released some movies on Friday instead of Tuesday.

Hmm I don't remember that. Must have been movies I didn't have an interest in.
