Having a continuing problem with certain TV recordings (Channel 7-1 out of Detroit), converted to AVI and played back on a two standalone players.

The audio is in sync after conversion to AVI on the PC and when played back on CD, DVD or USB stick on the PC.
Playback on the standalones is out of sync with any on any media.

I've tried conversion with AutoGK, FreeMake and Staxrip.

Here's the before (MPG) and after (AVI) data (converted by StaxRip)

Without the specs of the two standalone players(what types of files do they play?) all of this is meaningless.

Turned out it was the frame rate of the source.
Had Staxrip remove the even field to get 29.97fps and it went back in sync.
