  1. I need some kind of free software that can splitter mkv files into smaller files in order for them to fit, on FAT32 formatted devices. So obviously i need to to cut larger than 4GB mkv files into smaller ones.

Is there a way to do this using some kind of free software, and not commercial ones?

Splitmkv. Or SolveigMM AVI Trimmer or avidemux if you need a preview window.

  3. Or, you could try the MKVToolNix. It has a file-splitting option somewhere.

  4. I tried commandline splitmkv and It worked perfectly. Do you guys kno if it can also make time-based splits? EG cut a 1:30 file into two 45 min files?

  5. I've been splimkv using for something close to a month now, and it is so so good, i'm really glad jagabo mentioned it to me. The Fact that it even cuts subtitles (external and internal as streams to matroska) is amazing.

I would only like to know one thing. Is it also possible to reverse the splitting? EG re-join splitted files, so you can recreate the complete file on another drive? In case i want to carry the file to a another computer or something...
