audio/video stutter delay in VLC & MPCHC

Hi, whenever i play a movie or music video through VLC or MPCHC, audio & video stutter for a second or two & then playback is normal, i hear a crackling sound during this moment. i uninstalled & reinstalled audio drivers(Realtek HD audio).if you have any idea how solve this problem please suggest me, Great thanks in advance.i have acer desktop ,windows 7 home premium,32 bit,2 GB Ram.

Hi I have just downloaded and installed VLC from a link from Video help and it plays videos of all kinds but i cannot get any sound with my videos I have done the obvious checks,mute and unmute and volume up on the VLC controls but no luck would be interesting to know if anyone else had/has this problem the videos I tried out some play with the sound fine in Windows media player so I know it's not the video files with the problem.
