Just wondering for the sake of it, what would be the fastest possible single machine setup possible for encoding h.264?
On a system I have running on a 2.8GHz Intel Xeon, 12GB DDR3 Tri-Channel, Quadro 2000 series with 1GB DDR5. Max fps for 720p in h.264 hovers around 180-220 fps depending on footage if I don't have any other programs running.
Would it be possible to reach anywhere near the 1000 fps mark with any kind of setup?
