  1. Hello. I read this guide and I have a problem. What should I do if I want to include warning screens, intros and trailers in a new DVD? I would like to keep everything from the original disc. Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you are actually asking.

Generally, warnings, trailers, intros etc are all separate titles, even if they play before the main movie. Therefore, adding subs is unaffected. You add subs at the title level. Inserting these extra titles before the main movie is a different project. PGCEdit is probably the tool you need. Have a read through the associated guides.

Is my English really that bad?

I wanted to know is it possible to author a new DVD with new subtitles while leaving these extra titles untouched? According to the guide I used, it is not. I will need to do it manually, but how? If there is any guide on this, please let me know. I am a beginner, so it will take some time until I actually learn something from PGCEdit's guides since I know nothing about DVD structure and stuff.

There is no simple way to add subtitles to an already authored DVD. Baldrick's guide (the one you were using) is one of the better ones for doing this, but yes, it is a manual process of deconstruction, addition, and reconstruction. As manono has pointed out in your post to that guide, Method 2 is the one to use for what you want to achieve.

The best way to learn is by doing, and you really can't break anything. Just take your time, and if you hit a wall, ask specific questions. I would suggest you read through the entire post before starting (it is only 11 pages) because you may find that most of your questions have already been asked and answered.

Only 11 pages? That's 309 posts! I guess I am not used to forums. Anyway, I read them all but I couldn't find anything similar to my problem.
And thanks for your support. I hope I will get all my answers here.

Either you aren't clearly explaining what you want to achieve, or you simply aren't understanding the answers being given.

My understanding of your problem is this. You have a DVD, and wish to add subtitles to one title on the DVD, while keeping the rest of the DVD intact.

Method 2 explains how to do this. In a nutshell, you have to extract the title you want to add subtitles to, rebuild it as a stand alone DVD with the new subtitle, import this new title into your original DVD structure in place of the old title, then update the IFO files to reflect the change (i.e. new subtitle).

Does this cover it ? What, specifically, isn't answered ?

  7. Obviously, I've got confused by the last VobBlanker step. I didn't know it keeps everything from the original DVD, not just the menus like it says there. Sorry for bothering you all.

  8. Don't be sorry, the thing that tripped you up may very well be stumping many others. Your added information could save some other poor soul lots of frustration.

If you don't know the answer, the only dumb thing to do is to NOT ask the question. Although, very often reading carefully will provide the answer.

Your original question sounded like you wanted to ADD warning screens and trailers to a DVD disk, IN ADDITION TO adding subtitles. All you want to do is add subtitles, while keeping all other features. The wording of "include warning screens, etc." is confusing and less than precise.
