So I have 50(ish) videos all 5 minutes long and they are all have the wrong resolution and black border, which I need to change.

What is the best and quickest program to use?
I have tried sony vegas to re-author but the size went from 25mb to 4.45gb

After I have sorted out all the videos I need to be able to burn them onto a DVD

maybe give vidcoder a try. but not if you want dvd video, only if you are making data discs. dvd video is mpeg-2, and vegas would be a better choice.

Are you trying to put all 50 videos on one DVD intended to be played in a regular DVD player? Fifty 5-minute videos is 4 hours and 20 minutes worth. 4.65 GB for 4 hours and 20 minutes is not excessive, in fact most people only put a couple of hours worth of video on a DVD to have decent video quality at full DVD video resolution (720x576 for PAL), or 4 hours at half resolution (352 x 576 for PAL). If the video is widescreen once the frame is removed, you must use 720x576 for PAL.

    Thanks for the reply's

I want to change them all to 720x480 and since they are all cartoons I am not overly concerned about quality.

There are black borders which are really annoying me so I need to remove them all first then change the resolution.

I can't seem to work out how to remove the borders in vidcoder and sony vegas seems to output one file to 4.45gb which is really strange.

After importing file into VidCoder, click Settings (hammer/spanner icon).
Under Picture tab, click Cropping>Automatic. The borders will be removed.

If you need to fine-tune the cropping, click Cropping>Custom, then the Preview button.
Move the preview screen aside a little so you can access Top, Left, Right and Bottom buttons. Use the up/down arrows as necessary to fine-tune the cropping. whilst keeping an eye on the real-time preview.
