  4. Yes there is ONLY ONE guide.. and you will need "I-Authors" and that program realy sucks, becuarse you need to make your OWN sub. it wil only take "Ogt files", if it just could take saa, srt and all the others formats it would be grade. but that ogt sucks!

any one eles to tell me how to create!

  6. Cheers, I found the guide. I came across it before but assumed it was only for VCD's but apparantly you can use it to make subs on SVCD's too.

This is the easiest way: http://www.vcdhelp.com/subsvirtual.htm
And use Substudio to convert the subs to Substation Alpa .SSA
And it works good in SVCD's also
    Good luck.

  8. DVD Maestro,

Appearently SVCD subs are not a great standard.
    I-Author creates CVD subs.

You might want to download the samples with subs
    from here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/svcd.htm#sample

This way you can test your player before you waste too much time.

Finally a free fish for those who wish. DVD2SVCD is free and can
create both types of subs from a DVD. doom9.org has a forum
dedicated to it, and here is the software home page
    http://212.88.77.140/

In fact, it is a bit overkill for you seeing that it does all the work in
creating an SVCD from a DVD and you do it manually.

BTW: CVD subs work on my GE (Apex type) player. I have yet
to get any to work on my samsung.

What kind of player do you have ?

  9. I was woundering what DVD2SVCD used for subs, so I checked it out.
It uses submux. And guess what, submux is under the red tools link
on the left. There is also another progrm there called MaestroSBT.

Sooooo appearently there are alternatives to I-Author if you
want subs you can turn on and off.

Thanks to the-beast because that link you gave mentions submux
and MaestroSBT. I may have not noticed them other wise.

Here is another link to the FAQs that gives the skinny on selectable
    subs:

Wow, what a great player...."110 quid at Powerhouse"

Sounds like it would use CVD subs.

I'm in the states where appearently I can't get the good stuff
