I started watching a movie in my Netflix instant queue last night (Body Heat) but couldn't finish. Went to finish it today and it was no longer available as "watch instantly". It was only available as a DVD rental along with most of the movies in my instant queue. Along with changing their pricing plans I guess they severely limited the amount of streaming video to maximize DVD revenue. For 8 bucks you get nowhere near the streaming content you used to have. I'm canceling my membership.

I don't think thats new. I saw I think it was the first X Files movie had an "expiration" date. It wouldn't be available after a certain date. It must have been a similar issue with that movie.

I have seen expiration dates before also. Most of the movies in my queue are no longer available and when I browsed for other instantly to TV there was alot less to choose from than I remember in the past.

I guess once a conspiracy theorist always a conspiracy theorist.

Their agreements with the various libraries expire and need renegotiation. This time around they are going for international rights as well. Costs will go up as they add subscribers.

  5. Their stock went from $301 before this price change to $265. lol

But they are just now captioning streaming non-foreign stuff, so hearing people have been quite lucky.

  6. many people will downgrade their membership before the end of this month (I'm going to do that around Aug 25) before the price hike take an effect

I'll probably change from two DVD to one DVD+stream at about same price. Looked at Amazon and others, none can match Netflix.

I've had the problem of netflix sending out dvd's a DAY after getting the old one's back.

It just started about a month ago and has been a constant problem, they used to always send out the new dvd's from my queue the same day the old one's arrived!!
