  1. HI, i am a newbie not only to this forum but also to this entire "video editing" concept!

i have seen a lot of posts on the internet say sony vegas is the best of all but some of my friends tell me powerdirector is really good and so is adobe premier!

i have decided to buy any one and start learning video editing!

so plz guide me which one should i buy ? i am very much interested in learning everything about video editing and become a pro in 2 or 3 years. I am willing to spend good amount of time to learn all so plz dont suggest a program good for amateurs!

Sony Vegas seems like a good way to start. It also depends on how often, how much work you plan to do and what you wish to concentrate on. For instance, Virtualdub is free, and you can do PLENTY of video editing with it. Why don't you start with that first? If most of your imports are MPEG-2 (DVD sources), get VirtualdubMpeg2 (not the same as Virtualdub, which does not work with MPEG-2 streams). It has plenty of filters that do different things and will keep you busy for a long time. Plus it's FREE.

Oh and get ready to read a few replies to your question, just mindlessly and aimlessly parroting after each other (in a New Jersey, dunce truck driver's voice) "duhhh, why don't u try avisynth? It duhhhh, ...it's powerful! duhhhh, avisynth! uh...powerful!"

Yet no one will be able to tell you how to use it.

Ok, maybe you can try and google for " NCH VideoPad Video Editor 2.41 [Giveaway] "
They give it for free, but if you are interested.. hurry up, the offer is at the end "Giveaway will end on July 30, 2011"
I tried it 5 minutes ago, and it activated/registered successfully.
