Can anybody sort of give me the definitive answer (or at least their own personal experience) as to whether the Playstation 2 and/or the X-box game systems are able to play CD-R's and/or CD-RW's burned as "VCDs".
I checked the DVD player list and it wasn't very clear about the compatibility since different users said several different things...
I've heard that certain CD-R/W storage formats work while others don't - is there truth to that? And/or can you do something in the burning process to better increase your chances of playability?
I'm a Newbie, of course, but please let me know...

VCD or SVCD or X(S)VCD or miniDVD/cDVD do not work on both.

I have a UK x box and purchased the dvd remote to go with it. I was completely gutted to find that it won't touch a cdr at all ( audio or otherwise ). It will play cdrw's though, but only audio as it won't play vcd's either. I sold the remote and bought a real dvd player that plays everything.
