  1. I want to know what color range im supposed to set up for dvd or TV rips, since they are made for TV does that mean I need to have the GPU or player be 16-235 and not full range? Also take VLC, it got an option that converts YUV to RBG by default; so won't it be easier to just deselect it since doing so gives colors close to 0-255 i think. I'm confused by it, having it on makes the video washed out, but the name of the conversion implies its taking TV material and amending it for PC. surprisingly uncheckin "Use Hardware YUV-RGB Conversions" appears as the equivelent of 0-255. Now I don't know what to go with, GPU options or software like VLC. Its worth noting the problem is with VLC only it seems.

There's no such thing as a "TV rip".

To "rip" a DVD means you extract data unchanged off the media. (NO ENCODING!) Otherwise it's not a "rip".

NTSC video is YUV, not RGB, and has color ranges specified by the format in use. (NTSC, ATSC, etc)

So your question doesn't really make any sense.
