I want to convert H.264 interlaced video into avi or other container compatible with WMP while keeping interlacing. However all tools I could find perform deinterlacing.
Please help me to do this operation.

what kind of avi? "avi" is just a generic container. it would have to support interlaced video.

I can not play 264 files on WMP. I need any container, Windows media Player will understand.

Try mux into a mp4 with mymp4boxgui. Or mkv with mkvtoolnix.

  6. H264 can't stand alone if you want to play with most player, you need content like Mkv or Mp4 for content it.
Why don't you try Drag drop convert (don't forget to install .net framework 3.5 sp 1 too).

Thanks everyone for your help. Simple mp4box (without GUI) did the job preserving interlacing. Just plain command line:
    />mp4box -add <inputfilename>.264 <outputfilename>.mp4
Other tools did not help me, unfortunately.

I got also one vc-1 interlaced file I need to convert to WMP format.
