help, flask mpeg freezes!!

Hello..
Every time i have tried to make divx out of a dvd i have, it doesnt work..
i do all the usual stuff,
rip the dvd with starripper,
yes, i have encoded all divx codecs..
but i have soem problems,
when i start conversion it stpos after 3% ever %/&¤&¤#""¤#!
time....
And there are no subtitles even i choose that,
is there any other ways then flask mpeg to make divx out of dvd?
how do i make it to vcd?

You can use DVD2Mpeg Squeezer. With this program, you can make vcd compliant mpeg movies and you do not have to rip entire dvd to your hdd. This program reads vobs from your dvdrom but you should run a dvd player software like PowerDVD to unlock your dvdrom. You can choose any subtitle you want with the program. You need a plug in (panasonic plug in v2.1) to use the program. If you cant find it i can send it to you. Also you can zoom the movie to make it full screen or make it widescreen as dvd. I advise you to make audio a wav file because when I do audio directly mp2 sound contains errors. After you create video in mpv and audio in wav formats you should turn wav into mp2 with any mpeg encoder(xing encoder is fastest). After that you have to multiplex mpv and mp2 with tmpeg or xing (both should work well). When multiplexing is complete you can easily turn it to divx with virtualdub. If you choose highest quality and noise reduction filters in dvd2mpeg, a 2 hours movie is turned into vcd in about 18 hour on a 650 mhz athlon with 128 mb ram but the quality is perfect(I think better than original vcds).

I have NEVER been able to get Flask to work without it freezing at some point. Wether it's the alst stable release or the beta.

I almost never have any problems with FlaskMPEG freezing.

sangofe, you mentioned you used SmartRipper. Did you use "Movie Mode" or "File Mode"? Using "Movie Mode" is known to cause problems with FlaskMPEG. FlaskMPEG expects to see the VOB files in their entirety.

If you haven't already tried it, use "File Mode" with SmartRipper or simply use DVD Decrypter.

Are you using FlaskMPEG v0.594? It's more stable than the newer versions.

DVD2MPEGSqueezer rips directly from your DVD-ROM drive. This can drastically reduce the life-span of your drive if you aren't careful.
