Hi I'm looking for a HD cam under $300 bucks, mostly for shooting home videos. Im guessing there will be some low light conditions inside, but nothing too bad, but I would like it to be decent in these conditions. I have look a fair bit at a few cameras, Im pretty set on a sony, or canon seem to be the better ones. I don't want a JVC Iv had bad luck with their stuff in the past.
Here is a few I have looked at:

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-dcrsr68-80gb-hard-disk-drive-camcorder-s...2af4441a2aen02 (This one is not HD, but if I can find one similar I would consider it, if in HD.)
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-hdrcx110b-high-definition-flash-camcorde...bd0c8457daen02
I did find one like the above with built in 16gb and a flash slot, for $300 at a future shop i believe.
There is some more variations in the actual stores vs online.
Yes I did search I didn't find anything recent.

HV20 is a good choice .I bought mine refurb for $500
if you don't like to deal with tapes .check the Panasonic HDC-TM55K(I own) or a used TM60

unfortunately I would prefer to buy a new one vs a used one since it will be a christmas gift. Im not too keen on refurbs Iv had issues with some refurb stuff in the past.
