  1. Does any one have some basic infos about the structure of Dolby TrueHD streams?
(background: I'm trying to come up with a formula to calculate the m2ts muxing overhead when muxing a TrueHD stream into a m2ts container, but I'm stuck since I got near zero knowledge about the structure of TrueHD streams)

  2. its always better to seek help from the creator of Dolby, I mean Dolby Lab. (Because in case of up-mixing 2-to-5.1 there are tons of different matrices are floating around and anybody can come-up with a new matrix.)
Some basic info on Dolby Lab website about Dolby True HD .
Try to contact Dolby Lab support with your intention clearly stated.
In future, I would be really please to see DD7.1 AC-3 640 releases floating around.
DTS IS ALSO WORTH CONSIDERING, IF FINAL SIZE IS NOT A PROBLEM.
    Good Luck!

  4. it is easy to generate two more extended channels in addition to 5.1 with a custom (tested) matrix.
(alternatively you can run spectrography on genuine 7.1 sample, if you can!)

Can't you just determine that experimentally?

Nope (read: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=158828 <- the last 1/3 is probably the interesting part), at least not with the amount of test data I currently have.
