    i recently bought a lg dv556 divx/usb dvd player it plays xvid an divx fine but for some xvid when i play of a flash drive the video occasionally freezes more often videos with ac3 audio but if that same file is burnt to a disk NOT CONVERTED but in the same xvid format an played from a disk it plays fine from the disk witht the ac3 audio i tried different flash drives an still same problem how ever if i re-encode the xvid file with the enw 1.31 xvid codec the poroblem is sort of fixea as some parts of the xvid file while in playback loooks like if its slowing down for a while then goes back to normal speeed. i do not understand why its plays normal from a disc which the ile was traansferred to but not a usb drive can anyone help me with this please

    Apparently it's being hung up on the data transfer rate. I recommned a Samsung Bluray player myself.

    but its the usb stick supposed to have a faster data transfer rate than using a disk? i am using a san disk cruzer 4gb an i tried a 1gb kingston

    You are not the only one to have encountered this issue with this brand of bluray player. There was an earlier discussion thread. I'll see if I can track it down.

    this is not a blu ray player its a dvd player its lg DV556

    I guess I read to quickly. You might try reecoding the audio using virtualdub and see if the problem stays the same, but I have found dvd players that play xvid files with high video bitrates from flash drives stuttering, pixilating, or doing exactly what you have encountered.

    its 1800kbps considered high? i tired re coding the audio to mp3 an i didnt work still froze

    Each DVD player seems to have a different tolerance. In this case I'd suggest dropping it to about 1100kbps.

    whats the fatest way i can covert the bit rate lower down using VDM lest say under half an hour is dis possbible becuz it tkes long to re encode
