So, I've done pretty well on Craigslist the past week--
SignVideo PA-100 Proc Amp + DataVideo TBC-100: Both for $208 Shipped
JVC HR-S9800U VCR - $105 Shipped
Everything works great, 9800U even came in the original box and as far as I can tell it was hardly ever used. Moral of the story: you don't have to settle for inflated eBay prices! (If you're willing to take some risk buying from Craigslist, that is).

I think the most expensive thing I bought on ebay was the xbox hd-dvd drive. It was about a 100.00 a few years ago when hd-dvd was still relevant. It worked and everything but that was as expensive as I've gone on ebay and they have control policies.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
I use Craigslist all the time - mostly for camera equipment. Only use it locally so I can see eye to eye.
Don't use eBay much at all - mostly due to the bullshit shipping charges to Canada. Shipping charges seem to be an ongoing eBay scam - over charge shipping and it reduces the posting/selling costs and it limits the returns (shipping is never refunded). -
I know USPS shipping costs are high to Canada, though. I had a buyer that wanted to make me an offer including shipping, and I didn't accept because shipping was like $55 even though geographically speaking it was much closer than California, but the cost to ship to CA was only $27 for the same package... :/

Depending on how much insurance you need, USPS is generally the cheapest. Biggest savings is over the f'n brokerage fees that UPS adds in.
If the declared value is less than $100 then USPS usually doesn't add anything - even if they do it will only be $5. Way back I bought a print server from some guy in the states and we agreed that it would be sent USPS. To my surprise it came UPS and with a bill for about $25 - my winning bid was only $22 including shipping charges. He ended up getting a little pissed off with me when I gave him negative feedback - he ask why and I told him it was due to not shipping by our agreed method (and explained the extra fees...). -
I've been scouring Craigslist for a TBC-100 (not 1000, the 100) for probably two weeks now.
WTF? How did I miss it?Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Actually, LS, I bought a TBC-1000, not a TBC-100... typo on my part. Still got a good deal though. It was more like 3 weeks ago now...
