  1. I use NTL DVD & CD Maker 7 that came installed on my machine and have succesfully recorded and ripped DVDs and CDs with no problem.

A friend transferred a couple of amateur videos from analogue to digital for me, which are stored on my hard disc as avi files, but the DVD Maker can't see them. It asks for _TS files.

So I downloaded a free avi to ts file converter, but the burner still won't see the converted ts files.

Please - what do I do now?

It probably wants a VIDEO_TS folder with ifo/bup/vob files. So convert to a DVD-Video instead, with for example avstodvd, dvd flick, etc

But AVI to DVD conversion is not any DVD ripping. Moving you.

  3. I'm not at all tecnically minded, so your reply, no doubt spot on means absolutely nothing to me. Could you explain in a way that could be understood by a complete idiot?

    Thanks

Convert the AVI to DVD-Video and burn it.

NTL DVD maker doesn't do that.
