NCAA Tournament (men's) - who's watching and why?

So are you into the NCAA Tournament for men's basketball?

Why do you watch?

Is it for the brackets for gambling or just the spectacle?

Do you follow a particular school or just watch whatevers on?

I only follow the Michigan schools that are in. Three this year. I am NOT a basketball fan by any means. But if a local school gets on a tear I'll watch some of the tournament.

I follow the UofM the most (my dad went there). I keep up with MSU just because they are always there - though they had to work hard to get there this year.

I think basketball ranks close to European "football" (re: soccer) and watching paint dry in the excitement factor. I'm going to be pissed off at all of the shows that I like to watch that are going to be pre-empted by this yearly blight.

I am not a fan of basketball but I won't go this far to putting it down. I am too much of a typical American to be able to watch Soccer at all. I'm not a soccer hater just not a watcher. I guess part of it is I never played it when I was in school so I never learned the ins and outs of it.

In the tournament or nba playoffs I can appreciate it a bit more as the games are more meaningful. But I usually don't go out of my way to watch it.
