    Hi all,

This is my 1st post here and I'm new to video converting/transcoding.

I am trying to get the best result possible when converting a wmv to any other format (avi, mp4 etc) or even, if better, sticking with wmv if really needed.

I am using Daniusoft Video Converter Ultimate because it has the drm removal built in which in my case is essential as the parcticular wmv file I want to convert is from the bbc iplayer and has the lousy 30 day limit drm within it. The software is successfully converting but with slightly 'jerky' results and my question or appeal for tips is relating to what settings to use, I have already tried several different settings and target formats and all results are slightly jerky. Ideally I would like a file size of around 1 - 1.5gb (the original wmv is 55mins long and 563mb in size and appx 1235 kbps).

I have left the size/res the same at 720 x 406, also kept fps the same at 25fps, but the choices re the bit rates differ considerably and I thought it would be ok to go for appx 2500kbps - 3500kbps or even leave it the same but with all different options and output formats the results are slightly jerky, I spent a whole day doing multiple conversions just to check it out.

So, to finalise, could this be due to the DRM stuff?, or is Daniusoft the possible culprit & has anyone else on here used it or do you recommend a different program??...........I have just today acquired someone elses rip of this file and it is absolutely perfect and is only 400mb in size & is an avi with xvid as codec, just how the hell was that achieved??....any help would be much appreciated as I would really love to know mainly because I can't stop thinking about it and really want to know how to do this for possible future use.

    thank you

Hardly anyone here uses that stuff. You are better off using the guides provided by that company:
