  1. Hi Guys,

I am unable to convert some WMV files to Ipod touch format namely Mp4.

I tried using Super Converter but to no avail. It keeps giving me Error and the file does not convert

Does anyone know how can I convert it?

I have attached a screen shot of the detailed details from Super.

Don't just test ONE tool. Try MORE FREE tools like format factory, handbrake, iPodME, EncodeHD, Total Video Converter. And if they don't work use avisynth, install it and then you should be able to import the wmv with for example xvid4psp.

But if the wmv is DRM protected you can't do much. Maybe screen recording using Replay Video Capture.

Man, that source file is ugly. It's got 15 fps video and 22.05 KHz audio but a high def resolution. Why? Why? The person who made the original file needs to be beaten. Note that even if you convert it successfully that you will have problems with the final result. The video motion won't look quite right because of the odd frame rate and the audio will have audible defects in it because the sampling rate was so low.

LOL. 1024x768 resolution at 106kbps video bitrate!
Seems to me a failed video creation...

  6. Hi guys tried most other encoders but to no avail. Tried to fix the wmv file but it did not help. This video I think was created with camtasia as it was recording a screen share. Anyone have any suggestions. Some of the author files are convertable but some are not.

Please notice that nowhere in my post did I mention DRM.

I could answer your question, but the fact that you even asked it after being a member here for 8 years suggests to me that you're really not very interested in learning anything. The fact that you quoted my post, which as I said does not mention DRM, also suggests that you're not really paying attention here. Sorry, but I think I'm gonna pass. I'm not into wasting my time.

  9. Hi My mistake. I was answering on my ipod touch and it was kinda hard to navigate on the small screen.

I am a member here for 8 years but do not always learn all the materials here. There are other things that keeps my time occupied.

It seems just so difficult to convert a WMV format ... ....

  10. Guys hi

I think I know the problem but not sure how to solve it.

I tried using Super again and disabled the audio, it works in the conversion of course without audio

How can I extract the audio and merge them together for my iPod Touch to play?

Try Avidemux to extract audio from source and merge it to converted file.

  12. Thank you. Let me try that

  13. When I tried using avidemux to extract audio,

I chose save as and PCM to save as WAV but it says unable to find audio stream choose copy

So when I chose copy, what extension should I save the audio as.

When I saved it as a blank extension and tried to merge it back by choosing main audio track, ac3, it says Not a WAV file?

Your source audio is wma. So you can set audio as copy with extension wma.
Then you need to convert it to aac (I think this is what Ipod likes).

OR: use Format Factory, open the source video file, select Ipod from the presets and convert. Done.
