Hey guys,
Now that I have a good external TBC, I'm trying to pick up and try out a few non-TBC VCR's to see what (if any) improvement I can possibly get with some tapes that don't exactly shine in my AG-1980 or SR-V10U.
I just got a Sharp VC-H810U new in box for $26 shipped--great deal I thought! I'm excited to try it out, just won it today.
I've seen people claim on other threads that they think Mitsubishi's can outperform JVC's. Seems that the HS-U748 or 778 are the most highly recommended models... but they don't seem to drop below about $75 shipped on eBay.
Are the HS-U746, or any 77* or 74* models decent alternatives? 746's can be had for $35 and others in those number ranges for that or cheaper. I'm hoping someone has experience with those.

have owned and sold the mitsi vcr's, i am sure brand new and well looked after thery were good, but the ones i had were loose and untidy, try the sharp first then a panny 1980, the jvc tend to produce an over processed image in ntsc guise, pal they they are great
