Hello, this the first time i'm here.
I don't know if this is the right place to post my topic, please excuse me if it isnt.
    Now to my problem.

I have two .mp4 files, that i had to recover from my old external harddrive, since it broke down.
Now the two files doesnt play in any video player. And further than that, none of the video editing programs i've tried to re-encode them in, would accept the files.

When i try to play the files with VLC my CPU goes crazy (uses about 90%) and the videos never start. Media Player Classic doesnt play the files, just says "Cannot render the file".

I'm really in a standstill with these files, so i really hope that this is the right place go get a little help.
Now, here's the links for the files (they are packed with winrar):
    http://swalkmovies.dk/MovieDetails.aspx?id=25
    http://swalkmovies.dk/MovieDetails.aspx?id=23
Press the green "Download" button, they also wont play in flowplayer on my site.

    Regards swalk

  2. Hi Swalk, Yes you have tried editor programs which didn't work probably a corrupt header have you tried mp4boxgui ? open and select mux open the mux tab and add the mp4 if that don't work then select the demux tab try and import it then demux, if you want an mp4 then open the video and audio again under mux tab using the same frame rateas before.

Thank you so much for your reply, because of you i can now watch the movies in Windows Media Player, but not VLC(only the audio plays). They also won't play in flowplayer on my site. Hope you can help me out a little more

  4. So you can watch on WMP which you couldn't before but flowplayer won't? Could it be a fault with flowplayer, its script or whatever it uses?
Also is there a reason why it's mp4 ...flowplayers restrictions? why not use flv it can handle avc/h.264 files.

Yeah you got that part right I don't think flowplayer is the problem, have lots of other mp4 files which plays just fine on it. No there is not a reason why its mp4, i just chose mp4 because i like the container. Actually thought of trying flv if my re-encoding of the mp4 file fails. Will just have to wait and see for now.. Do you know any good flv encoders?

  6. I downloaded it and it's definitely corrupt as in it's is like it's been renamed from another file. Can you get the source files?, paste the link here.

I don't have the source file, then i wouldn't have the problem, i could just re-encode the source files then :P
But an update on my re-encoding of the mux'ed files, now they play in VLC, uploading now to see about flowplayer.. I'm excited ^^

  8. LoL :]. If it muxed in mymp4boxgui as in it accepted it them the file shouldn't be corrupt, What's the source is it your own work, a movie cause unless you made it and lost the source youy should be able find another.

  9. Look I went to the site http://www.no-limits.dk/No-Limits.dk/Velkommen.html and cannot find any movies on (teambuilding) adventures info
I can now see since I downloaded the rar and movie of your site it's corrupt as it isn't an mp4 just the extension is, unless theres a source video I don't see how you can play this.

Yeah i muxed the files in mymp4boxgui. And before i did that, i couldn't play the files anywhere. My VLC would use 90-95% of my CPU, and i would have to terminate the process to use my computer further. WMP didn't play, so wouldn't flowplayer and MPC. After muxing, i could play with WMP, but not VLC. Then, after re-encoding the muxed files i could play the files with VLC
Now im 55% and 8% done uploading the files to see if they wanna stream with flowplayer
Yeah the sources is my own work, both files are old "fragmovies" of my creation.

Hehe that site is nothing like what the movie is about, the movie is a counter-strike fragmovie, and the clan have been non-existent for several years afaik.
Well, i don't really know anything about the extension thing youre talking about. At my computer its a .mp4 file :P
But i muxed that same file you downloaded, and then re-encoded it, and works so far with all my videoplayers on my computer! (dont know about flowplayer yet though)

Yeah im a little bit ahead, as i said before i just muxed the file and the re-encoded it with "H.264 Encoder"
