use multiavchd to take the mkv and create a real bluray or avchd disc. Then burn with imgburn. (I'm 99% certain multiavchd creates full bluray titles but I know 100% it creates avchd which ps3 will play - and can be played on dvdr media - dual layer for that size file of course).

Actually for a mkv file under 7.95gb you should consider converting to avchd anyway unless it has a dts stream. You SHOULD be able to pass the dts stream through even in a avchd disc but its not part of the avchd spec. If you make a true bluray disc dts is just fine.

Of course there are full fledged bluray authoring applications you can check out too. Look in the tools section on the left of the screen.

Edit - just so your clear on this the ps3 won't simply play the mkv file as is. It has to either be converted to avchd, bluray or STREAMED to it. If you use something like ps3mediaserver you can leave the file as it is and the program will transcode it so the ps3 can play it back. But you need at least a dual core cpu to do it well and it should be connected via lan so as to have optimum speed. Wireless is not ideal for high def unless you have a n router and n receiver on the ps3 - I don't know if there are any n receivers for the ps3 - the built in is g for at least the fat models - the slims may have started shipping with n capability but I don't know I only have the fat 40gb model.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

You can also try AVCHDCoder. I find this software to be much more intuitive than multiavchd. If you are new to this, i think that will actually be an easier place to start.
