  1. Hello

    I am using TMPGEnc v2.x

The problem I am having has been ongoing since the old beta versions as well but I never sought help to rectify it. I will now try to explain the problem.

When an NTSC SVCD file is produced it is fine. But I need to cut it down to fit on CD's. When I cut the file, using the MPEG Utility built into TMPGEnc, it produces the cut I want but the resulting file has an extra piece of footage with no sound on it.

That is, I perform a cut from 0 minutes to 35 minutes. The resulting file should be 35 minutes BUT the resulting file actually ends up being 35 minutes and 20 seconds. The extra 20 seconds of footage is video with no sound!

Regardless of where I start the cut at and where I finish the cut at, I get this problem of extra footage with no sound.

This problem occurs with all versions of TMPGEnc when I produce a NTSC SVCD (23fps or 29fps), but never on PAL (25fps).

The only way around the problem that I can think of is to convert the file to PAL then cut it - but I do not know how to do this and would rather not spend the time on it. BUT if I have to I guess I will.

Any help would be appreciated, but more importantly I would like to hear of anyone else that is having the same problem.

    Thank you

  2. DITTO. It wouldn't be so bad because I overlap disc 1 and disc 2 BUT disc 2 ends my audio apx. 20-30 seconds before the end of the movie. Now this wouldn't be a problem either if the credits are rolling BUT some avi movies that I am encoding have had the credits cut. Some input regarding this would be most appreciated.

  3. I know ur suffering and i know the answer, hehe

Ok, i know the answer bout svcd, avi, i'm still workin on, sorry.

    OK here i go-

When i dl svcd dvd rips, i fix em so i can reencode em and put them on 1 cd, and this process will ALSO help u out too, ok, this is how i do it-

I got the svcd mpg- i go to mpeg tools, merge and cut-
Stream type- mpeg2 program vbr then do that

If u notice, the audio in the new program vbr stream is off and thats why the audio stops at the very end of the clip, so this is what u do next-

Go to demultiplex(not simple), and import the ORIGINAL svcd mpg and save ONLY the audio stream. Now, go to simple multiplex and for video, choose your mpeg2 program vbr mpg, and ur new mp2 file u just made and mux those.

The resulting mpg will be perfect and now officially ready to be reencoded w\o going out of sync.

PLEASE NOTE- u MUST remux the audio from original mpg with new program vbr mpg, trust me!

Everyday is another payday and I am one step closer to becoming the one.
