pict. switches between from grainy to normal later in movie

I have tried TMG 2.0 and 2.5 and even the nero option! Now I'm playing with Sonic foundry Vagas video 3.0a. Tried two different Medias.
My picture runs great quality is great! But later in the movie I will start getting Flickers or glitches if you will where the pict gets really grainy then goes back to normal! I'm using a panasonic dvd-rv31. It says it plays VCD's but not SVCD's in the owners manual. I have had some VCD's play normal with out any problems! Any help would be great! Thanks In advance!
