Was backing up a Blu-ray movie which was shot about 10 years ago. After encoding, I found it to be rather grainy. Can anything be done about this.
Do the advanced settings in Handbrake, VidCoder, affect the grain content of the movie.
I usually use deblocking -2 -2 which usually gives a sharper picture. Would this add to the grainy look?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you compared the original with the encoded one? Many blu-rays are very grainy...so it's normal.

Yes, the original was more grainy than usual. So is there any settings adjustments that could get rid of the grainy look or at lessen it?
