I am interested in restoring and the time is running out for good VCRs.

So I wonder what the wizards in this forum has to say about the big beige machines compared to high quality prosumer VCR's like the reference unit Panasonic NV-FS 200 (Panasonic AG-1980P for NTSC version).

Should I keep looking for a Panasonic NV-FS 200 or will the following do?

Panasonic AG-8700E - I am probably able to buy one

Sony SVO-1500P - I have one of those
