I want to make the Audio in some AVI files louder

So I can hear them better on my phone. But I do not want the new AVI output size to be different. Is there any way to raise the audio of an AVI file & not change any settings ?

I am not looking to convert the AVI. They are already ripped from DVDs I own into AVI Xvid. I just want to raise the audio & not change anything else

I looked through it & only saw pictures & people talking about how with that program being converted to Divx & I am not looking for that. Oh well thanks for trying

The thread describe exactly what you are looking to do.

But you probably don't need to do it at all. In all likelihood you the files you're complaining about have AC3 audio. AC3 audio is normally recorded at -20 dB to leave headroom for really loud sounds (like explosions). All you need to do is turn up the gain in your AC3 decoder.

I know the issue the OP is having. Often, when the movie "backup" has mp3 audio,
the dynamic range is still wide and perceived level is still too low, probably as it was in the original Dolby Digital.

At least with the mp3 it's easy to fix in an audio editor.
Avidemux can handle the ac3 quite easily: reduce the dynamic range and normalize.

The Audio in my files are already mp3 as I chose them to be in FairUse Wizard. The Audio is just to low for Phones

Open your file in VirtualDub. Then:

1) Video -> Direct Stream Copy
2) Audio -> Full Processing Mode
3) Audio -> Voluume... adjust to your liking
4) Audio -> Compression... select codec and settings
5) File -> Save as AVI.
