Guys does anyone of you use sites like megaupload, rapidshare, hotfile, etc? Every time I try to download from one of them they never will finish. They get to about 15% and than just stop and say it is finished.
Using win 7, and I have plenty of hd space. Thanks.

Rarely, but I did download something from rapidshare between 1 and 2 weeks ago and it completed fine. It could be a problem with whatever you are trying to get. Hollywood has been known to put deliberately corrupted torrents on the internet. It wouldn't surprise me if they also deliberately put corrupted files on services like those. I was downloading an old classical music performance that has long been in the public domain in Europe so what I got had nothing to do with movies at all.
You could try using another computer at another location and if you get the same result, I'd take that as proof that the upload is corrupted. -
You'd think fake torrents would make you wait until about 95% before crapping out...

I am not sure, I mean I am not trying to download any movies. I mean I tried just to download a pdf and it does the same thing. BTW, I tried the same files at a friends house and I was able to download them.

may have just been an issue with the site at the time you were trying from your pc

I've used them all in "slow, free" mode but only have a paid "high speed" account with HotFile. When used in "free" mode, all of them will crap out on you once in awhile: its one of their ways of "encouraging" you to sign up for paid full service. Recently my paid premium HotFile account began acting up with one out of five files slowing to a snails pace ("5 hours 37 mins remaining" for a 100MB file). But usually they all do work OK, I find HotFile the least obnoxious in "free" mode. If you are experiencing incomplete downloads from all four services all the time, on all files including little PDFs, then something is off in either your browser or OS. If you use Internet Explorer, try installing and using FireFox instead (similarly, if FireFox is giving you the problem, try using Internet Explorer). If switching browsers doesn't change anything, the problem could be anywhere in your system or internet provider.
Note there is a widespread issue of dolts who wouldn't know how to upload an uncorrupted file if their lives depended on it: you can waste a lot of time trying to download such files. If your problem files mostly source from the same couple of people, they may be the problem: they put up damaged files. Try to get the same files from other sources if you can.

I use the free services of those sites all the time. Never had to deal with those issues.

Trouble with the downloads---TROJANS--Have downloaded many files and when checked with Kaspersky, most have had trojans. I run the scan before I un-rar them just in case. If a trojan is listed, I delete the file, not worth the trouble.

My ZShare account does pretty well. It's a bit confusing to people of my dad's age but...it works well.

Use a download manager like JDownloader or Internet Download Manager (IDM). You won't run into many problems using those programs and if there is a problem it will tell you straight up. I was getting CRC errors recently but defragmenting the drive got rid of that. Simple computer maintenance will usually fix most problems. If you still can't get the file after using a download manager, PM me and I'll see if I can find out what is wrong....
