Mac Users With LG BD390 (DLNA Issue)

Hi!

I'm loving my new LG390 Bluray player. My only disappointment so far is that I can't seem to use DLNA server software on my iMac to get the BD390 to stream stuff off of my local network. I've tried Nullriver's Medialink server as well as the cross-platform PS3 media server. The BD390 does find the DLNA servers (they show up in a list on my TV screen), but when attempting to pull data from them, I get a message from the bluray player about a connection error. I've heard this problem echoed in a few corners of the web, namely in Amazon reviews of the BD390.

Have any Mac users out there been able to get the BD390 to stream from a DLNA server?

Update:

The new DLNA server Majestic doesn't even show up on the BD390. When I run XBMC from my Mac, the BD390 does see files and folders (eventually), but when I try to play anything, my BD390 crashes, sometimes to the point of just shutting off completely! Can't believe I brought down Cnet's most highly reviewed drive...

Update - EyeConnect works. But... almost isn't worth is due to sync problems over wifi - known issue in LG BD390.

Tried quite a few free Mac and PC DLNA servers with LG. Quite a few problems. Twonky seem to be the best of the pay servers - timed out and didn't finish testing.

The best most recent is TVMobili (mac edition have not tested win or linux). I like it so far for video - it streams very well from slow processors over wireless.

I need to test picts and audio. Had a problem with a wav file (white noise) but don't know what the codec in the files is. I use MP3 and WMA (for Yamaha Amp with DLNA). more tests needed.

Cool, jemm. Btw, have been successfully using EyeConnect for over a year now - I think a firmware update to the BD390 fixed the synch issues when streaming over wifi. Avi, mp4, h.264, mkv (with mp4 extension, strangely), mpeg2 and .ts files play nicely up to 1080p. Also plays mp3s playlists and photo slideshows well. May take a look at TVMobili as well.

You might want to try Wild Media Server http://www.wildmediaserver.com/ it costs $40, right now they are running a special for $30. You can try it out for 14 days for free - they recommend you do the 14 day before buying it.

TVMobili running on a single core atom cpu - wirelessly - streamed H.624 video flawlessly.

Dizzie what LG rev firmware are you using now.

jemm, I'm using what I think is the most current - it updated automatically on the LG about 2 weeks ago. Also, what machine are you using that has an atom - a "hackintosh"? I'm assuming you're running TVMobili on OSX...

rev. 1.4.0.2563 TVMOBiLi Server - LG 390 has no issues with video and music. The server is very fast. Curious about the speed of content shared with friends.
