    I'm going to install FCP Studio on my MacBook Pro. However, the 2 video cameras that are accessible to me are the XL2 & the Z1-U, which require firewire to digitize footage. My laptop has a Firewire 800 port. Has anyone successfully digitized using a Firewire 4 pin to Firewire 800 adapter cable? Thanks everyone.

    works fine dont worry.
    i use fcp on macbook with xm2 cameras. i think the cameras have the same dv out.
