I have been trying to make an exact "on the fly" copy of an cd-audio which has extras such as photos and mov files. I believe these are called CD Extra discs. My DVD-rom will not allow any data/audio to be transferred on either WINONCD3.8 or NERO5.5. However, my Samsung CD-ROM player works perfectly, and i can copy the CD Extra "on the fly" from this to my plextor 12/8/40.
My question: does anyone else have this problem with DVD-ROMs? Is this a standard defiency.
I can copy CD-Audio "on the fly" with no problem although the extraction to buffer is slower.

To my knowledge CD-Extra is a CD-(ROM/R/RW) ONLY format. DVD-ROM's do not support the CD-Extra architecture.

I had no problems running the disc on the DVD-ROM, strange that it kept hanging up when I tried to copy: oh well- thanks for the info
