Hi, hope this is in the right section. Basically I recently did a favour for someone and filmed their wedding (using a Sony camcorder filming onto mini DVD-Rs). Unfortunately due to absent-mindedness on my part, I set the date on my camcorder wrong by a day. I've finalised the discs and as you probably know the date and time on the dvd works like subtitles. Is there any way at all of altering it??
Thanks for your help!

It's been my experience that once the DVD is finalized...it's finalized. No going back or reopening the disc. Eventually, they'll lose track of the date of their wedding anyway!

I don't understand. If the date is truly a "subtitle" on the disc....why not just copy the disc, remove the subs then burn a new one?

I am going to assume you are talking about the date/time stamp shown on the video from the camcorder....
Those are encoded into the video itself, they are not like subtitles.
The only way to get rid of them is to re-encode the video with a logo removal filter, which will leave a small blurry spot then you would have to re-encode AGAIN to add the correct date/time stamp over the original one.
And regardless of whether the disc is finalized or not has nothing to do with the OP's issue -
Insert a forced sub that will show the time/date stamp and cut out the wrong time/date stamp portion,no need to re-encode,just reauthor.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -

I mean cutting out the first few seconds of the video where the stamp is showing and putting in a forced subtitle.

If it is only showing up for the first few seconds, but if it's stamped onto the entire video.......
