I usually figure about half the original cost. A bit painful at times, but if you got quite a bit of use out of it, that's usually fair. If no takers at that amount, go lower.
In general, I would keep the price under $500. But a lot depends on your market. (Craigslist, newspaper, Ebay, etc.) IMO, too many people over price their used PCs.
Since I have confidence in my used PCs, I also usually offer a 30 to 90 day guarantee on parts, free and installed. Don't give them a phone number if possible, use a email address like Yahoo or similar. Some buyers will drive you crazy with every little problem.
Two photos are nice, one outside and maybe one with the side cover off. (I hope your wiring is neat.) Use a colored sheet draped over a table or chair for a good background. A photo that shows the monitor on with a background scene helps.
You also didn't mention what OS (If any) it has on it. PCs with Vista or W7 usually sell better. If you wiped the drive and reinstalled the OS, throw in a word processor like the freeware Open Office and some freeware graphics, video player and some other basic programs as those help with sales. If you have any paid programs on it, I would probably uninstall them most times, depending on their licensing setup. I would list the installed software. -
That's a pretty nice rig !
-Three suggestions-
You state 2gig of installed memory.
What configuration ? How many open slots remain ?
That information could be helpful for someone interested and wanting more than 2gb of RAM.
The board has a nice complement of expansion slots.
Have you added any expansion cards ?
If so, make that fact known as any such addition could increase the value.
Finally, if you still have driver and any other set-up discs for the motherboard, GPU, OS (if any is included), or any other included software application, be sure to include them in your listing.
Good luck !THREADKILLER !
