I am in the midst of building my new pc (thanks to all of you I decided on the Asis p5b deluxe and the core 2 duo e4300). Now I am buying the OS and definitely sticking with XP based on all I have read on VISTA. Anyone have the media center edition of XP and is it worth it or am I better off saving the money considering I have nero and vegas movie studio to rip/capture/burn with?

I tried XP media center, but I prefer XP Home or Pro. If you are using the computer as a HTPC, it may work OK. You do need a graphics card that will work with MC. If you decide to go that way, a Hauppauge 150 MCE or higher seems a good option.

Can you buy media centre ? I thought it was OEM with full HTPCs only, or part of Vista Home Premium/Ultimate
