    I am looking round for new encoding software any1 tell me why it takes almost 9 hours for me to convert to mpeg in this software and my PC is quite high spec
    IE
    1.4 pentium 4
    512mb ram etc etc

    9 hours on a P4 ?

    What ?, something is not right. It should be around 1.5 - 2 hours for a 3 hour movie from Divx to VCD Mpeg. It is a P4, not a Celeron or something ?

    Are you adding filters "Colour correction" etc, that will make a big difference, don't use them !!
