Sounds like your virus program removed the file but not the registry setting, look on google how to remove that line from the registry if that's the case. I think, therefore i am a hamster.

I agree with the partial removal from virus cleanup. If you're comfortable or familiar with editting the registry you should use a tool that will at least let you see startup programs.

One of my favorite reasons for using Spybot Search&Destroy is startup tool. Use the advanced setting and go to tools and use the system startup. Should be readily visible and simply delete. Of course, make a backup of your registry first....Have a good one,

OK, what tool do you recommend I use to view start up tools? I usually go to run then msconfig. Is this not what I need to do? If so, what do I need to be looking for?

I created a system restore point, is this all I need to do to back up my registry? Can I just run the spybot now with the steps you listed or is there somthing else I need to do?

Thanks for your help, sorry for all the questions!

msconfig should be fine. Just go to the startup tab and look for the offending .dll. Though this will only disable the entry and not remove it if I remember right. Otherwise, see my previous post. Have a good one,
