The 35th anniversary of the original Star Wars film will be the event that sees the full saga get it's long awaited Bluray release. However it will include only the special editions, as, according to Lucas, it would cost too much and take too much effort to get them up to a suitable standard (read : will you guys stop bugging me about the bastard red-headed step children that are the non-CGI encrusted under achievers, because I am no longer on speaking terms with them).

    LOL!!!

    Imagine that...

it would cost too much and take too much effort to get them up to a suitable standard
Lord knows he would not want to have to spend .01% of the billions of $$$ he already has to do it.....

He could not spend all the $$ he has before he dies if he tried!!!

and showed off a deleted scene from Return of the Jedi that will be included
They better include more than that one deleted scene, like maybe 20 per film ?

but if you can stand living in a world where Greedo shot first
    Him and Spielberg....
What a couple of conforming cave in PC wussies!!!!!!!

2011??? Ok I can wait that long

Now is this for all 6 or just the original set?

So now will the "original" editions be released in 2012 and that is what causes the end of the world?

  4. Negative Yoda - There are no more original editions. When the special editions were created, he spliced into the negative. What you see is what you get.

I believe that the only originals left are those that are on Laserdiscs. I still have both original and special edition versions on laserdisc. I also have the dvd disc versions but I don't think they are the originals, they are prob from the special editions and mocked up for dvd, i think.

I thought those were supposed to be from a laserdisc version? I have the ones you are talking about.
