  1. Thinking of getting a blu-ray player, and wondering if my system is perhaps to old for it to really make any difference in the picture quality.

    I'd have a uxga cable running from a video switcher (Kramer VP-728) to a projector (Sanyo PLC-XU55) with 1024x768 resolution.

    I can give more specs if need.

    The question is: will blu-ray look any better than normal dvd with this setup, or would a new projector be needed?

    might work ok, but you may need to use the DVI-I x 1 (w/HDCP) input. should look better than DVD source material.

    i think the projector only accept up to 1080i not p.

    newbie/general is fine or under hardware/blu-ray players would have worked also.
