I own this device. Its the 2nd one... I returned the first one.... When I play captured video back to my tv using the DV OUT program the video sometimes flickers color, black and white, color, over and over again. Does anyone else have this problem with theirs? Can anyone suggest a program that plays Digital to Analog besides the DV Out program that comes with Main Actor? Also I just tryed a new program called ULEAD MediaStudio Pro 6.5 So far I get perfect captures with 0 dropped frames using the Dazzle DV Bridge.... I would hate to sell this device, but I read that the Canopus AD *** is better?
Thanks!

I have the DV-Bridge as well and I have no issues with the captured video. Actually, this is my second unit but the first one worked as well. I captured a ton of home footage off of old Hi-8 and VHS-C.... no issues. It plays well with most of the programs I use.

I mean when you want to play the captured video back thru the dv bridge onto your tv or vcr... this is when i get the color, black and white, color, etc flicker....

So you both can capture fine with the Bridge??
I am considering buying one of these and want to get some info before I do.
How is the quality on the files you capture? What file type are you saving them as? Are you using the software that comes with the Bridge, and then converting using TMPG or another program?
I am wanting to capture home movies and VHS tapes, and have a VCD/MPEG1 file for the end product. I want to make sure that the Bridge is a good way to go.
Thanks -
The bridge is my most reliable method of capturing. I capture with the program that comes with it or with Windows Movie Maker or with Ulead directly to an AVI file. The only thing I can't do is capture with the Ulead products and convert to an MPEG file. The Ulead is expecting a device it can pause and you obviously can't pause the bridge. The quality is excellent.
Basically, this is the most trouble free product I use. Everything else sort of works. The downside is you have to convert to MPEG and that takes some time. The good news is that if you are going to edit out commercials or "touch" your video you really want to do it as an AVI file before its compressed. -
Great, that helps alot.
I will be getting one of these bridges as soon as I get my firewire card that I bought on ebay, and it should be in next week.
